Amanda Baker is a Brooklyn-based artist and educator. She received an MFA in Printmaking with an Advanced Certificate in Teaching and Learning from Pratt Institute in 2024 and a BFA from Massachusetts College of Art in 2016. In her intermedia work, Baker fabricates image-objects that reflect representations of animals and nature through a speculative lens.
Baker is the recipient of the 2023 Weiss Student Scholarship Award and the 2023 Pratt Graduate Student Engagement Fund. She was a former artist-in-residence at COPE NYC and at the Montana Natural History Center via Open AIR Missoula. Her work has been featured in Hyperallergic and the Aiglet, and has been exhibited in group shows nationally. Amanda currently teaches at NYC Public Schools via Marquis Studios.
